GEM Time Mobile

Your staff clock in from their phone.

GEM Time Mobile turns every employee's phone into a time clock — GPS-verified punches, their schedule, their hours and their time-off requests. No app store, no fee per employee, and your data stays in your own system.

Why it matters

Fewer disputes, cleaner payroll, less chasing

The three things that cost you most with hourly staff are hours nobody can prove, overtime nobody saw coming, and a payroll run that starts with a pile of corrections.

No more "I forgot to sign the sheet"

Every punch is time-stamped and location-stamped the moment it happens. No paper, no memory, no argument at the end of the month.

Overtime you see coming

Hours build up in real time against each employee's schedule, so overtime becomes a decision you make instead of a surprise you pay for.

$

Payroll prep that starts clean

Hours arrive already calculated with your rounding, grace and overtime rules — the same figures your supervisors approved, not a second set to reconcile.

What your employees get

Six screens, and nothing they need training for

Everything an employee needs from your time & attendance system, and nothing they don't.

Clock in / out

Clocking in, with proof of where

One large button, a live counter showing how long they have been on the clock, and today's punches underneath. Location is captured on every punch.

  • GPS position recorded on every clock in and clock out
  • Optional geofence — punches only count at the workplace
  • A forgotten clock-out is flagged, not silently guessed at
  • Works alongside your biometric clocks, not instead of them

Schedule

The schedule in every pocket

Six weeks of shifts, always the published version. The moment a supervisor changes something, every phone has it.

  • Split shifts, days off and shift types, colour-coded
  • Staff arrange swaps between themselves — a supervisor approves or denies it right from their own phone
  • Nothing changes on the real schedule until that approval
  • Ends the "what time do I work Saturday?" messages

Hours

Employees stop asking HR for their hours

Their own timecard, live, for the pay period they are in — and the one before it.

  • Regular, overtime, comp time and holiday hours, day by day
  • Late in / late out flagged against their schedule
  • Employees sign off on their own timecard before payroll runs
  • The same calculation as your timesheets — never a second opinion

Time off

Time off without the paper form

Balances first, request second — so people ask for what they actually have.

  • Vacation and comp-time balances visible before they ask
  • Whole day, part of a day, or comp-time hours
  • Doctor's note photographed straight from the phone
  • The request reaches the supervisor's phone immediately, balance already checked, ready to approve or deny

GEM Daily

A daily list, not just a clock stamp

Every scheduled shift gets its own task list — what's expected today, and whether it got done.

  • Planned tasks with optional start and end times
  • One tap to mark a task complete, or reopen it
  • Unfinished tasks roll forward automatically — day, week or month
  • Supervisors see exactly what a shift produced, not just how long it lasted

GEM People

Need a letter? Ask from the app.

A werkgeversverklaring, a salary letter, anything else HR normally types by hand — request it without leaving the app.

  • Request any letter, or pick from a template
  • HR generates it in one click from the same request
  • Delivered back as a PDF, ready to download
  • No emails, no waiting on someone to remember

No app store

And that is the advantage, not a shortcut

The app installs straight from your own system. Nobody needs an app store account, and nobody gets left on an old version.

2

Installs in two taps

An employee opens a link, adds it to their home screen, and it opens full screen with its own icon — like any other app. No store account, no password, no 200 MB download on their data plan.

Every update is instant

Improvements reach every employee the moment we deploy them. Nothing to push out, nothing waiting on a store review, nobody stuck on last year's version.

🔒

No fee per employee

It comes with your system. No app store bill, no extra licence per person, and your employees' hours and locations never pass through a third-party app.

Getting started

How a rollout actually goes

1

We switch it on

Nothing to install on your side and no new system to buy — it is part of the time & attendance system we already run for you. We set the workplace location if you want geofencing.

2

Your staff scan one code

One QR code on the notice board, or a link in a WhatsApp group. They sign in once and add it to their home screen. That is the whole rollout.

3

You watch the hours land

Punches, swaps and time-off requests arrive in the same system your supervisors already use. Nothing new for management to learn.

Most clients are live within a week. Employee training takes about ten minutes, because there is very little to learn.

Get the app

Two ways onto a phone

Android can install the app file directly from this page. iPhone adds it from the browser in two taps — Apple does not allow apps to be installed from anywhere except the App Store.

Android

Download the app file and open it. Works on Android 6 and newer.

Download for Android

GEM Time 1.0 · Android package (.apk) · about 2 MB

Also coming to Google Play
Your phone will warn you first. Android shows a warning for any app that did not come from the Play Store. Tap "More details", then "Install anyway" — or allow installs from your browser when it asks. The warning is Android's standard notice about the source of a file, not a sign that anything is wrong with the app.

iPhone & iPad

Nothing to download — Safari installs it for you.

  1. Open time.gem-itsolutions.com/m in Safari
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap Add — the GEM Time icon is now on the home screen
Open the app
It must be Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone cannot add apps to the home screen — that is an Apple restriction, not ours. Once added, it opens full screen with its own icon exactly like a downloaded app.

See it running on your own phone.

Book a short demo and we will show you the app working against your own shift patterns and overtime rules — not a generic sample.
